The Nebraska Sandhill Crane migration is a critical point in their migration to their breeding grounds in Canada, Alaska & Siberia. The Platte river is a vital “pinch point” in their journey that provides crucial rest and refueling for the rest of their trip north.

Not only is this an important place for the cranes, it also pushes further importance on maintaining and conserving the Nebraskan wetlands and Platte River valley with its lowland tallgrass prairie.
